Man accused of armed raid at bookmakers remanded in custody

A 28-year-old man has appeared in court today charged with an armed robbery on a bookmakers in South Dublin yesterday afternoon.

A 28-year-old man has appeared in court today charged with an armed robbery on a bookmakers in South Dublin yesterday afternoon.

Glen Creed of Bawnlea Close, Tallaght, was arrested near the outlet in Whitechurch where a masked man with a firearm entered the premises and demanded cash at 2.30pm.

The weapon and €2,300 in cash were recovered.

Judge Bryan Smyth remanded him in custody to next Friday having heard garda objections to bail based on the seriousness of the charge.
