Govt announces €1.6m grants to housing organisations

The Department of the Environment has announced details of more than €1.6m in grants for voluntary housing organisations this year.

The Department of the Environment has announced details of more than €1.6m in grants for voluntary housing organisations this year.

The figure represents a 4% increase on the total funding provided last year.

The largest beneficiary is the Irish Council for Social Housing, which has received an allocation of €410,000.

Threshold has received €350,000, while €195,000 is going to the National Association of Building Co-Operatives, €103,000 to Focus Ireland and €73,000 to the Simon Communities.
