Gardai have identified the woman whose body was taken from the sea off the Waterford coast yesterday evening.

Gardai have identified the woman whose body was taken from the sea off the Waterford coast yesterday evening.

They say the body is that of a missing 28-year-old, who disappeared from Youghal, Co Cork, last Wednesday.

Her body was recovered from the sea, two miles south of Brownstown Head, near Dunmore East, after it was spotted by a passing yacht.

A post mortem is due to be carried out at a hospital in Co Waterford later today.
