Journalist to launch book on the Basque Country

A book chronicling the cultural history of the Basque Country will be launched today by former Irish Times foreign correspondent Conor O’Clery.

A book chronicling the cultural history of the Basque Country will be launched today by former Irish Times foreign correspondent Conor O’Clery.

Written by journalist Paddy Woodworth, The Basque Country: A Cultural History is a guide to the art, architecture, traditions and history of the troubled territory.

He previously wrote Dirty War, Clean Hands – a study of the consequences of using a state terrorist strategy to combat the terrorism of the Basque separatist group ETA.

Woodworth has written about the Basque people for over 30 years and is also a former Irish Times staff reporter.

The launch takes place at Dubray Books in Grafton Street at 6.30pm.
