Three people rescued from burning building in Belfast

Three people have been rescued from a fire at block of flats in east Belfast in the early hours of this morning.

Three people have been rescued from a fire at block of flats in east Belfast in the early hours of this morning.

Firefighters using breathing apparatus led the three to safety through thick smoke after other residents escaped from the blaze on Grace Avenue.

The fire started in the stairwell of the building just before 3am.

The PSNI is treating the incident as suspicious, but the exact cause of the fire has still not been established.
