A Co Louth man charged in connection with a drugs haul in Rosslare earlier this week has been remanded in custody.
The 35-year-old appeared before a special sitting of a Wicklow courthouse last night charged in relation to the seizure of 23 kilos of cannabis at Rosslare harbour on Thursday afternoon.
The man was charged with importing and carrying cannabis resin.
The haul, which has an estimated street value of more than €160,000, was seized following the search of a UK-registered car on board a ferry which had arrived from Cherbourg.
Sweeney will appear before Cloverhill District Court on Friday, August 24.
