The ISEQ index of Irish shares was up 30.18 points to 2,636.22 at close of trading today.
Financial stocks were among the upward movers, with AIB adding 22c to €1.59, Bank of Ireland up 9c to €1.49 and Irish Life & Permanent jumping 26c to €3.00.
Also prominent on the risers' board were Tullow Oil, gaining 24c to €9.85; Glanbia, up 20c to €2.41; Kingspan, lifting 18c to €4.31; CRH, adding 15c to €16.14; Paddy Power, cheering 13c to €17.28; Smurfit Kappa, up 10c to €3.56, and C&C, also adding 10c to €1.95.
Among the fallers, Kerry Group fell 12c to €17.08; Elan Corp dropped 11c to €4.71; Ryanair fell 5c to €3.27 and FBD Holdings was also down 5c, to €6.45.
