Derek Tracey scored his first goal of season as Rovers won this basement battle at Tolka Park to bring the season to a close.

Rovers went in front on nine minutes when Shane Robinson collected a mishit shot from Paul Malone to drill the ball past Robbie Horgan in the Vikings goal.

Vikings responded well to level ten minutes later when Gary O’Neill put Cathal O’Connor in behind the Rovers' defence to shoot past Noel Mooney.

Rovers upped the tempo into the second half and got what proved the winner on 53 minutes when Tracey flicked home a Mark Rutherford free-kick in from the left.
