Fire destroys historic Kerry building

Fire has gutted an old building of the heritage town of Kenmare in Co Kerry today.

Fire has gutted an old building of the heritage town of Kenmare in Co Kerry today.

The fire broke out at 2.20am this morning and four units of the Kerry Fire Service were called out.

One unit remains at the scene.

A traditional barber shop on Henry Street in the town has been extensively damaged.

Traffic through the town was restricted overnight but the street is reopening around now.

No one was injured in the blaze.
