More tests on woman's body found in Dublin

Further tests are to be carried out on the body of woman found dead in a house in south Dublin, gardaí said tonight.

A full post mortem examination on the body of the 43-year-old eastern European found in a Rathgar flat was inconclusive.

Gardaí stressed there was no evidence at this stage of their inquiries to suggest the death was a result of foul play.

The woman’s body was found in the bedroom of an apartment in a large unkempt house on the otherwise salubrious Rathgar Road shortly before midnight last night.

There was no sign of the apartment having been broken into or ransacked, according to gardaí.

The scene roughly halfway between Rathgar and Rathmines was sealed off for technical examination.

The body was taken to Dublin City morgue this afternoon where deputy state pathologist Dr Michael Curtis carried out tests.

“The post mortem [examination] was inconclusive and further tests will be carried out to establish the cause of death,” said a garda spokesman.

“At this stage there is no evidence to suggest that [the] death was as a result of any foul play.”

It is expected to be at least several days before results from the further tests will be ready.
