Neville back for United

Gary Neville returns to the Manchester United squad for tomorrow’s Champions League encounter with Villarreal.

Gary Neville returns to the Manchester United squad for tomorrow’s Champions League encounter with Villarreal.

Despite his hour-long outing for the Red Devils’ second string last Thursday, the veteran full-back did not travel to London for the weekend win at Charlton but Alex Ferguson has revealed Neville is fit to face the Spaniards.

Long-term absentees Ryan Giggs (fractured cheekbone), Gabriel Heinze (knee), Quinton Fortune (knee) and Louis Saha (hamstring) are all missing as United face their first Old Trafford outing since Roy Keane’s departure knowing defeat, coupled with a Lille win over Benfica, would send them tumbling out of the competition.

Team (from): Van der Sar, Howard, Neville, O’Shea, Bardsley, Ferdinand, Silvestre, Brown, Pique, Richardson, Smith, Fletcher, Scholes, Rooney, Ronaldo, Park, Van Nistelrooy, Rossi, Jones.
