Ryanair finished up the day celebrating news that the no frills airline has been confirmed as the most requested website in Ireland on Google.

This placed Ryanair.com as the most requested brand on Google in Ireland during the month of August, beating searches for the likes of Big Brother, Love Island, Myspace and Paddy Power.

Ryanair’s head of communications Peter Sherrard said: "Passengers are well aware that the search for the lowest fares to European destinations starts and ends at Ryanair.com, and these latest stats from Google confirm that our passengers can’t get enough of Ryanair’s low fare flights."

"98% of Ryanair’s 42.5 million annual passengers book on www.ryanair.com."

The financials continued this morning's success with all major institutions experiencing further growth through the afternoon.

Bank of Ireland and AIB both surged forward recording an11c and 23c climb to €15.76 and €21.35 respectively. Anglo Irish Bank and IL&P also moved into positive territory. IL&P climbed 20c to €19.22 while Anglo Irish inched up 7c €14.07.
