A 26-year-old man is due before Tullamore District Court this afternoon in connection with a shooting incident in the town last week.

A 26-year-old man is due before Tullamore District Court this afternoon in connection with a shooting incident in the town last week.

A 24-year-old woman escaped serious injury when shots were fired through a front window of her home at at Cluain Darragh in the early hours of Thursday morning.

The incident was the third gun attack in the town in the last fortnight, prompting gardaí to set up a number of armed checkpoints in the area.
