An investigation into the deaths of a number of babies at a Galway hospital is now being widened.
The HSE confirmed last month that it was examining the cases of seven infant deaths at Portiuncula hospital, five of them involving oxygen deprivation.
However, one family who lost two daughters were not included.
Warren and Lorraine Reilly's daughter Asha died at 30 weeks' gestation in 2008, their second child Amber died at a Dublin hospital after being transferred there following her Caesarean birth in 2010.
Warren said he and his wife are now hopeful that their daughters' deaths will form part of the review.
"We are very hopeful that we've actually had contact from the HSA and the group to say that Amber and Asha would most definitely be included - that the terms of reference are being drafted in such a way as to allow the potential for other families to be included," he said.
In a statement, Portiunical hospital also said that it is to meet with six other famillies next week, and they may too be included in the review.
