Man dies in mine blast in Co Tipperary

A man in his forties has died in an explosion at a mine in Co. Tipperary.

A man in his forties has died in an explosion at a mine in Co. Tipperary.

The incident happened at around 6.30pm yesterday evening at Lisheen Mines.

A second man in his fifties was injured in the blast and was taken to Cork University Hospital for treatment.

Gardaí and the Health and Safety Authority are investigating.
