Sunderland boss Howard Wilkinson will make sweeping changes to the side that knocked Bolton out of the FA Cup in midweek for the visit to Goodison Park.

Strikers Kevin Phillips and Tore Andre Flo are expected to replace Kevin Kyle and Marcus Stewart while Jody Craddock and Phil Babb should return at the expense of Emerson Thome and Joachim Bjorklund in central defence.

Bjorklund joins Kevin Kilbane, Stephen Wright, Jason McAteer, David Bellion and Claudio Reyna on the injury list.

But Sean Thornton is pressing for a first Premiership appearance in midfield and Julio Arca could retain his place after scoring against Bolton if he recovers from a hamstring strain.

Provisional squad: Sorensen, Williams, Gray, Craddock, Babb, Proctor, Thirlwell, Thornton, McCann, Arca, Phillips, Flo, Macho, Williams, Kyle, Stewart, Thome.
