Martin rejects reports of health services shake-up

Health Minister Michael Martin has said that details of a shake-up in the health services, which were contained in recent reports, are premature.

Health Minister Michael Martin has said that details of a shake-up in the health services, which were contained in recent reports, are premature.

Mr Martin rejected claims that under Government plans, the private sector would be allowed to build and operate public hospitals.

However, he did confirm that the Government is considering establishing a cabinet committee to evaluate the changes in the health services.
