Woman dies after car plunges into sea in Co Waterford

Rescuers today recovered the body of a woman from her car, which was seen falling from a pier in Co Waterford.

Rescuers today recovered the body of a woman from her car, which was seen falling from a pier in Co Waterford.

Gardai and firefighters went to Dunmore East, after the vehicle plunged into the water just before 6.30am.

Heavy lifting equipment was used to raise the vehicle and the body of the woman, who has not been named, was recovered.

Gardai divers are scouring the area for any other casualties but witnesses reported seeing no-one else in the car.
