A man will appear in court in the UK today accused of kidnapping and murdering teenager Mary-Ann Leneghan.

Llewellyn Olemide Adams, 23, is due to appear before Reading Magistrates’ Court facing charges of murder, attempted murder and kidnap over the attack on the 16-year-old in Reading, Berkshire, earlier this month.

Adams, of Old Hospital Close, Balham, south London, is the fourth man to be charged over the teenager’s death in Prospect Park, Reading, in the early hours of May 7.

Mary-Ann and an 18-year-old friend, who cannot be named for legal reasons, were abducted by a gang of up to six men on the night on May 6.

After being subjected to a terrifying ordeal, including sexual assaults, the pair were taken to the park in the Tilehurst area where Mary-Ann was stabbed to death.

Her friend was shot in the head but survived.

Adams was charged in connection with the attack yesterday after two other men - 19-year-old Adrian Thomas of Battersea, south London, and 18-year-old Indrit Krasniqi of Chiswick, west London - were remanded in custody by magistrates on the same charges.

A fourth man, 21-year-old Jamaile Morally, of Balham, is also in custody after appearing before Reading Magistrates on Saturday charged with murder, attempted murder, kidnap and rape.

Thomas, Krasniqi and Morally are due to appear before the town’s crown court later this week.

A total of 13 people have been questioned since the attack.

One man, who was arrested on Sunday evening, remained in police custody last night.

All others have been released on police bail.
