Dublin pedestrian hit by train

A person has been struck by a train at the Merrion level crossing, in Sandymount, Dublin, this morning.

A person - believed to be a pedestrian - has been struck by a train at the Merrion level crossing, in Sandymount, Dublin, this morning.

It happened at about 8am. The victim's condition is not yet known. Emergency services are at the scene.

A spokesperson for Iarnród Éireann says that traffic will be disrupted in that area for some time as a result of the accident.
