Man arrested in taxi driver murder probe

Detectives investigating the murder of Clare taxi driver Liam Moloney today arrested a 53-year-old man.

Detectives investigating the murder of Clare taxi driver Liam Moloney today arrested a 53-year-old man.

The man was detained for questioning after a search of a house in the south Kerry area this morning.

A Garda spokesman said the man is being held at Cahirciveen Garda Station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.

Hackney driver Mr Moloney’s body was found dumped in a field near the village of Ruan, six miles from Ennis on Saturday, February 12.

The 56-year-old had suffered multiple stab wounds.
