A Dublin man arrested in Israel last week while occupying a house on the West Bank is to be deported tomorrow.

Salah Afifi –a 25-year-old engineer – is expected to be back in Dublin tomorrow evening.

Salah Afifi along with his friend Colm Breathnach, both from Dublin, travelled to the West Bank earlier this month.

The two members of the international solidarity campaign occupied a house in the West Bank town of Nablus.

Mr Afifi was helping an elderly Palestinian couple whose son was a suicide bomber – in the hope that his presence would stave off the Israeli army.

However, the 25-year-old architectural engineer was arrested last Wednesday and held in detention in Tel Aviv.
