Irish Examiner CEO to leave in September

Irish Examiner chief executive Mairead Maher has resigned to become CEO at one of the country’s leading brand strategy and digital design companies, Huguenot, it was announced today.

Irish Examiner chief executive Mairead Maher has resigned to become CEO at one of the country’s leading brand strategy and digital design companies, Huguenot, it was announced today.

Ms Maher, who has been CEO at the newspaper since June 2010, and prior to that was the company’s head of marketing, takes up the new role next month.

She will also have an equity stakeholding in the company.

Tom Murphy, group CEO at the Irish Examiner’s parent company, Thomas Crosbie Holdings (TCH), said: “Mairead has been an exemplary colleague and CEO and takes with her our very best wishes in her future endeavours.

“A separate announcement regarding coverage of Ms Maher’s Irish Examiner responsibilities will be made shortly.”

Huguenot employs 40 people, with offices in Cork and Dublin. Its national and international client list includes Meteor, Kerry Group, Bank of Ireland, SuperValu, Trinity Biotech and the International Rugby Board.

TCH owns the Irish Examiner, The Sunday Business Post and a number of regional titles, as well as online properties including breakingnews.ie.
