Stranded TDs set to miss Dáil resumption

Over a dozen TDs are stranded overseas due to the aviation disruption caused by the Icelandic volcano.

The politicians will miss the resumption of Dáil business today following the Easter break.

Proceedings are likely to be dominated by rows over the Government's role in the banking crisis.

This afternoon, the Government is due to order the beginning of the second debate on the Central Bank Reform Bill 2010.

But Fine Gael and Labour have vowed to press the coalition today over its dealings with the banks in the run-up to September 2008.
