UEFA Under-19 Qualifying Play-off (first leg)
Holland 1 Republic of Ireland 2
Sean Thornton scored a brilliant last-minute winner to leave Brian Kerr's youths just 90 minutes away from the UEFA finals in Norway in July.
Thornton capped a fine all round display when volleying home the crucial goal on 90 minutes to put Ireland in the driving seat of this play-off with the second leg still to come in Cork on April 10.
Substitute Stephen Elliott put Ireland in front with his first touch on 74 minutes, just 30 seconds after coming on.
Substitute Klaas-Jan Huntelaar levelled for Holland four minutes later when drilling home following a free kick.
But Ireland deserved their win thanks to Thornton's wonder goal.
