Tiger Woods confirmed today he will defend his title in next week’s Memorial Tournament in Dublin, Ohio.
The four-time winner of the Jack Nicklaus-hosted event said he is ready to return after withdrawing from the Players Championship in Florida seven holes into his final round earlier this month with an inflamed facet joint in his neck.
“The doctors advised me to take a week off and rest, which I did,” Woods said on his official website.
“They prescribed physical therapy, anti-inflammatory medication and soft-tissue messages, which I’m continuing with.
“Although I’m not 100%, I feel much better and look forward to competing next week.”
Last year at the Memorial Tournament, Woods fired a final-round 65 to edge out Jim Furyk by one stroke.
