Gardaí in Dublin have arrested a man in connection with a hit-and-run incident that has left young woman fighting for her life in hospital.

Gardaí in Dublin have arrested a man in connection with a hit-and-run incident that has left young woman fighting for her life in hospital.

The student, who is in her 20s and believed to be from England, was struck by a vehicle on the Rathgar Road in the south of the city at around 11pm last night.

She is in a critical condition at St James' Hospital.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to the incident to come forward with whatever information they may have.
