Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas made just one change from his side’s win over Norwich for their Barclays Premier League clash at Cardiff.
Full-back Kyle Naughton came into the starting line-up with Danny Rose ruled out, while there were also starts for summer recruits Paulinho, Roberto Soldado and Christian Eriksen.
Cardiff had David Marshall back in goal following his recovery from a hip injury, while Craig Bellamy also returned to the side after shaking off a knee problem.
