Gardaí make suspected drink driving arrest after cyclist killed in Kildare

A man has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving following the death of a cyclist in Kildare this afternoon.

A man has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving following the death of a cyclist in Kildare this afternoon.

The driver of the car is being detained at Naas Garda station.

A man in his 80's was killed when he was struck by a car while cycling on the Dublin Road in Clane.

An investigation is taking place by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and diversions are now in place.
