Munster are set to sign Australian prop forward Simon Kerr from Queensland Reds.
Kerr, aged 32, will join Munster in mid-August from Australian Super 12s team the Queensland Reds, according to the Munster Rugby website.
Kerr also plays club rugby with the Gold Coast Breakers under Grant Batty.
Kerr joined the Reds for the 2001 season and made his Vodafone Super 12 debut against the Stormers.
Kerr also played two seasons for Southland in New Zealand’s NPC, & in 1997 played for the NSW Waratahs, at the same time that Munster coach Alan Gaffney coached their backs.
Kerr is capable of playing both sides of the scrum but has a preference for tighthead.
Final preperations are currently being made for Kerr's move to Ireland, and Munster are hoping to have everything tied up by mid August.
