The first vote on Budget 2011 is currently underway in the Dáil.

Financial motions dealing with increases in petrol and diesel and cutting the air travel tax are first to be voted on.

An earlier procedural vote, won by the Government by 82 votes to 78, would suggest the motions will be comfortably passed.

The Minister for Finance Brian Lenihan has said he is "confident" that the Budget will be passed with a comfortable majority.
