Sven Goran Eriksson's girlfriend insists reports of a relationship between the England coach and Ulrika Jonsson are "rubbish".

The Italian lawyer was speaking through the intercom at the home in Regent's Park, London, which she shares with Eriksson.

Eriksson and Jonsson apparently met at a party for Express owner Richard Desmond in London's Roundhouse.

Nancy Dell'Olio told reporters: "We're still together and we're talking together. What the papers are saying is rubbish. It's the facts we're talking about. I'm not talking to any journalists and Sven is saying the same."

The England coach had left at 10.20am, 40 minutes earlier, in a chauffeur-driven dark blue Mercedes car.

He said: "Morning," to waiting reporters but refused to answer questions about the alleged relationship.

His chauffeur had arrived 25 minutes earlier carrying a plastic bag containing newspapers.

Asked how Eriksson was, the chauffeur replied: "The same as any other morning, healthy as ever."

He is thought to be heading to Stamford Bridge to watch Chelsea take on Manchester United.

Earlier Jonsson refused to comment to waiting photographers as she left her luxury home in Cookham Dean, Berkshire.

She said: "I'm going out for the day. I would appreciate it if you would leave my family alone."
