The Simpsons are perhaps TV’s best-known family — unsurprising given that they have been on the small screen for 18 years.
Which is why it’s a bit of a shock to see them take so long to move to the big screen in 'The Simpsons Movie' (Fox, €24.99). The good news is the wait was worth it, as Homer and his new pet pig cause a major ecological disaster in Springfield and set about trying to make amends with typically hilarious consequences.
It’s funny how many fathers identify with Homer, and there’s certainly a bit of Bart mischief in many kids. Buy this for your kids so you can watch it yourself. Apart from two audio commentaries and deleted scenes, check out the other features, including a Homer monologue on 'The Tonight Show' and the Simpsons judging American Idol.
