Man found on Lough Derg with severe hypothermia

A man is being treated at Limerick Regional hospital this morning after his vessel ran aground at Lough Derg overnight.

A man is being treated at Limerick Regional hospital this morning after his vessel ran aground at Lough Derg overnight.

Rescue services were alerted just after 11pm last night to the incident at Tinkers Point at Illaunmore.

Lough Derg lifeboat found an unconscious man on board suffering from severe hypothermia.

First aid and oxygen were administered at the scene before the man was transferred to Limerick regional hospital.
