Reports this morning said 26-year-old Gary McNamara, his partner and their child had left their home in Castletroy this week after receiving a tip-off about the kidnap threat from the Gardaí.

The reports said the alleged plot to abduct Mr McNamara and hold him for ransom was well advanced and could have been carried out as early as next week.
