A boat which holds significance in relation to the 1916 Easter Rising goes on display at the National Museum today.

A boat which holds significance in relation to the 1916 Easter Rising goes on display at the National Museum today.

Descendents of the signatories of the Proclamation of Independence, including James Connolly's great grandson James Connolly Heron, will attend the unveiling of the Asgard at Collins Barracks later this evening.

The boat was used in the infamous Howth Gun Running in 1914.
