Gardaí arrest third man after foiled raid

Gardaí in Galway have arrested a third man following a foiled robbery at a service station in Headford this morning.

Gardaí in Galway have arrested a third man following a foiled robbery at a service station in Headford this morning.

One man was arrested at the scene when the garage owner alerted gardaí.

A second was picked up a short-time later, but two other members of the gang escaped.

Gardaí are still hunting for a fourth man. It is understood the gang was armed, although no weapons have been found.

A car, which was stolen in Dublin on Monday, was recovered at the scene. The three men are being held at Millstreet Station in Galway.
