Waterford continued their remarkable progress on their return to the Premier Division with a fourth win to lift them up to second in the table.

A bizarre goal gifted Blues the lead on 31 minutes as Rovers' keeper Barry Ryan was adjudged to have carried a cross from Thomas Hughes over the goalline.

Rovers then had Jason Colwell sent off a minute before the break for an off the ball clash with Hughes.

Vinny Sullivan punished a blunder by Rovers' defender Richie Byrne to add the second goal nine minutes into the second half.
