Dublin man pleads guilty to rape charges

A Dublin man has pleaded guilty at the Central Criminal Court to raping two Australian women in their flat in the Rathmines area.

A Dublin man has pleaded guilty at the Central Criminal Court to raping two Australian women in their flat in the Rathmines area.

Barry McGee (aged 20), of Foxfield Grove, Raheny, pleaded guilty to two counts of rape, two of oral rape, one of anal rape, one of penetrating one of the women's vagina using a knife handle and one of attempted anal rape.

He also pleaded guilty to two charges of unlawfully restricting the womens' personal liberty, two of threatening to kill them and two of sexual assault by subjecting the women to degradation of a grave nature.

Mr Justice Paul Carney certified McGee as a sex offender and remanded him in custody until February 21 for sentence.
