Government troops have shot dead six suspected rebels in separate skirmishes in Indonesia's strife-ridden Aceh province.
It comes after security officials urged lawmakers to back the government if it imposes a civil emergency in the region.
Two suspected rebels were shot in North Aceh during a routine army patrol.
Army spokesman Major Zaenal Muttaqien said two other suspected rebels died in a clash in East Aceh.
On Friday, two separate clashes left two guerillas dead.
There was no immediate comment from rebels belonging to the Free Aceh Movement.
A civil emergency in Aceh would severely curtail civil liberties and allow the army to intensify its crackdown against the rebels.
About 20,000 Indonesian troops are based in Aceh, along with 8,000 paramilitary police.
