Gallery holds series of events to mark Shaw anniversary

The National Gallery is holding a series of events today to mark the 150th anniversary of playwright George Bernard Shaw's birthday.

The National Gallery is holding a series of events today to mark the 150th anniversary of playwright George Bernard Shaw's birthday.

Actor Alan Stanford will open the celebrations with a presentation at 2pm.

The Royal Irish Academy of Music will also perform later in the afternoon, while curator Adrian Le Harivel will formally introduce the gallery's Shaw exhibition.

Tours of the exhibition will continue throughout July.
