Former Irish Tarmac Champion, Kenny McKinstry and co-driver, Noel Orr, in a Subaru WRC won the Roush Manx Rally.
At the finish of the 16 stages at the Isle of Man they were 25 seconds ahead of the Escort WRC of Mark Perrott/Paul Morris, with Paul Bird/Andrew Bargery, in a Ford Focus WRC, some 21.4 seconds adrift in third.
McKinstry used all his experience to keep Perrott at bay despite very wet conditions.
Ireland’s Brendan Crealey (Lancer) was second in Group N with Clonmel’s, Roy White (Mitsubishi) third in the category, eleventh overall and winner of the Evo Challenge section.
Young Dubliner, Gareth MacHale won the Peugeot 206 Cup section.
