Man winched to safety off Co Waterford cliff

A man has been rescued after he became stranded on a cliff face in Co Waterford.

A man has been rescued after he became stranded on a cliff face in Co Waterford.

The Irish coastguard helicopter winched the man to safety after he was located about 30 feet from the top of the cliff at Annestown in Co Waterford.

The man was reported to be unhurt following his ordeal but was suffering from shock.

It was the first rescue mission to be carried out by the newly appointed coastguard helicopter for the Waterford region which began duty last week.
