Shamrock Rovers bounced back from their shock defeat at Bray last week in the best possible fashion with a fully deserved win over arch-rivals Bohemians at Tallaght Stadium.

Hoops' boss Michael O'Neill made four changes to his team from the Carlisle Grounds and they were the better side from the off.

Karl Sheppard got the only goal of the game on 42mins when heading home Gary McCabe’s cross for his fifth strike of the campaign.

Bohemians finished with ten men when former Hoops skipper Aidan Price was sent off seven minutes into the second half when shown a straight red card for pulling down Gary Twigg.

The champions remain two points clear at the top of the table.
