Four students were today charged in connection with the death of a teenager outside a Dublin hotel last summer.

Brian Murphy, 18, from Clonskeagh, Dublin, died from head injuries after an incident outside Club Annabell in the Burlington Hotel last August.

Desmond Ryan, from Dalkey, Andrew Frame, from Donnybrook, Sean Mackey from Foxrock, all in Co Dublin, and Dermot Laide from Castleblaney, Co Monaghan, appeared before Dublin District Court.

Members of Mr Murphy’s family were present as the four 20-year-olds answered ‘‘No’’ or ‘‘Not guilty’’ when charged with Mr Murphy’s manslaughter and with violent disorder in connection with the incident.

The young men, all former students of Blackrock College, were arrested this morning and questioned at Donnybrook police station.

They were remanded with consent to bail. They are to appear again before Dublin District Court next Thursday, May 24.
