Neil O'Connell landed the decisive point for Antrim as they overhauled Queen's University in their final Dr McKenna Cup group game at Casement Park.

O'Connell helped the Saffrons end their involvement in the early season Ulster competition on a winning note, gaining a 0-15 to 0-14 victory over the Belfast students.

Queen's looked on course for a morale-boosting success ahead of the Sigerson Cup as they built a 0-9 to 0-4 half-time advantage.

Derry ace James Kielt fired over three points and Justin Crozier was also on target twice against his native county during a lively first half.

Both Kielt and Crozier added to their tallies in the second half, but it was not enough as Antrim staged an impressive comeback.

Substitute Paddy Cunningham added some direction to the Saffrons' play and both he and Kevin Brady pointed to get the county side back level at 0-9 apiece.

Marcus Hannick (0-2) got Queen's back on track but with James Loughrey, Brendan Herron, O'Connell and Owen O'Neill finding their range, Antrim did enough to take the spoils.
