Gardaí appeal for witnesses following fatal Longford collision

Gardaí investigating a Co Longford crash, in which a man died and two others were seriously injured, want witnesses of the accident to come forward.

It happened on the N5 between Longford and Tarmonbarry at around 5pm yesterday.

They would particularly like to speak to the driver of a cattle truck who was first on the scene and may have witnessed the crash - this person was not involved in the collision.

The road at the scene of the crash is closed until 6pm this evening, to facilitate a forensic scene investigation.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Longford Garda Station on 043 3350570.
