441 drivers stopped for drink-driving last week

Some 441 motorists were stopped drink-driving last week, gardaí revealed today.

Some 441 motorists were stopped drink-driving last week, gardaí revealed today.

This is an increase of 21 on the previous week when 420 drivers were found to be under the influence.

A spokesman for the Garda Press Office said officers would continue to pursue enforcement in this area of road safety.

Renewing the appeal for people not to drink and drive, they said if you drink, don't drive; use a nominated driver or public transport.
