Nearly 3,000 homes in counties Donegal, Meath and Dublin are without power due to high winds and stormy conditions.

ESB Networks crews are working to restore power to all areas.

Donegal is the worst affected county with 2,500 customers without power this lunchtime.

The North West has been battered by high winds with gusts of up to 120 kilometres an hour overnight leaving thousands of households without power.

Supply was restored early this morning to 800 homes in Ballybofey.

But there is still no power in Letterkenny, Buncrana, Newtown Cunningham and Moville - affecting around 2,500 customers.

The lights went out in Delvin in Co Meath at around 9am - leaving 800 homes without electricity.

A further 1,100 customers in Trim are hoping to have power restored shortly - after they experienced an outage at 11am.

In Dublin, 220 homes in Malahide are also affected.

ESB Network crews are working in all the affected areas.
