Man questioned in connection with pub stabbing

A man is being questioned by gardaí today after two brothers were stabbed with a glass in a pub.

A man is being questioned by gardaí today after two brothers were stabbed with a glass in a pub.

The men, who are both in their 20s, were rushed to hospital after the incident in Gort, Co Galway, shortly after 11pm last night.

They were taken to University College Hospital in Galway where one of the brothers is said to be badly injured. The other suffered less serious injuries.

A garda spokesman said a suspect was arrested in the pub.

“The man is in custody waiting to be interviewed by gardaí,” he said.

“He is expected to be charged later today.”
